Blog Dump-July Edition

I'm still trying to relive summer's carefree days...so while lusting after lazy mornings, summer runs, and afternoon naps I decided to share some more pics of our fabulous summer. Here, in a nutshell, is what our July looked like :)
 Evan-4 1/2 months old

We went camping with Clif, Angie, Emory and Miles near Breckenridge. It was so nice to have some time away from home with them and to allow the kids to play together. Adam is in love with Miles and Emory and was content to follow them around and do whatever they were doing. Due to the fire ban we were unable to have a camp fire which was a bummer, but thankfully it was pretty warm and there were not many bugs. We did find though that sleeping was really hard, so we were relieved that this was just a one night trip.

always happier in the water :)

Jon built a bench in July (this is just the beginning!)
Evan played in his exersaucer a bunch this month...he's getting so big

Sitting with Miles on the Breckenridge gondola
Here's the completed bench! We can now seat 8-10 people comfortably!
We hung out with the Smith/Krause clan a lot...Emma, Will, and Jackson (not pictured)
 The Baby Whisperer...aka Jeff :)
Jon and I celebrated our 5th anniversary!
 We saw double rainbows

We went camping a second time with some friends, but this time we wizened up and borrowed Anne and Jeff's gigantic tent. We were able to fit a queen size aerobed, a pack and play for Adam and a bassinet for Evan. Needless to say we all slept way better and enjoyed our second camping trip as a family of 4.
Adam's morning routine...a video would have captured this better, because he dangled there for a while, until he started crying and I had to rescue him :)
Early morning smiles in the tent
The view from our tent...water and mountains, it really doesn't get much better than this :)
Adam loves camping...rocks, dirt, water, need I say more...
Hanging out in the river...due to the drought conditions this season the water was really low...bad news for the rafters we saw, but great news for the 2-6 year olds that were in our group
Guinness especially loved our proximity to the river
 Throwing rocks in the river

Evan enjoying a fresh air nap in the Moses basket
 Our little shady set-up
Aspen doing some snuggling with Evan
 Kirk and Evan
Sasha showing Carson how to make garnishes
Evan has figured out this little brother gig pretty quickly, he's already getting his older brother to do stuff for him
This is what most of our July looked like :)

Blog Dump-June Edition

In no way has our summer been so hectic that there hasn't been time to blog...in fact it has been the opposite. Tons of time to relax and just enjoy our little family of four. We have had a great summer, so now on the eve of our first day back with students here is a pictorial recap of our June. Hopefully I will get to July and August before Christmas hits :)
Learning to 'float'
Jumping off the edge
 Swimming lessons
Evan turned 4 months in June! This is his normal expression...always happy :)

James and Danielle Holman came to visit in mid-June (unfortunately Lisa couldn't make it because she was pregnant and could no longer travel).
Here the kids are enjoying some foos ball while the adults enjoyed the beer and wings at Dirk's (just like old times :)
Adam and Dani at the zoo
Jon and Evan riding the train
James and Dani riding the train
We spent a lot of our time swimming/playing in water
Dani's going to be such a good big sister!
And helpful!
For father's day we decided to hang out in downtown Denver...this is the only picture we took that is worth sharing. Adam is playing at Confluence Park...of course loving finding rocks and throwing them in the river.

The rest of the pictures are of our trip to Illinois to hang out with my family.
A night out, just adults! For our anniversary, Jon and I used some Christmas money to stay in downtown Chicago. My parents watched the boys with the help of Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Bud so we could enjoy a kid free weekend. On Friday night Jenny, Pete, Adam and Katie joined us for a night out...we ate at one of Rick Bayliss' restaurants...so good!
 On the riverfront
This was one of the reasons we stayed in downtown Chicago...the Chicago Women's Half Marathon! I wanted to run a half over the summer, but did not want to run a race I had already done. This race worked out perfectly and I even had running partners!
My parents brought the boys down to meet us after the race so we could all enjoy Millennium Park. Adam got to run in the fountain with his cousins and here he is meeting 'The Bean'

All our supporters
After our weekend in Chicago we headed back to Freeport to stay at my parent's house
Here is how the boy's spent most of their time...Evan-sleeping, Adam-eating ice cream

2 Months

Poor Evan gets somewhat forgotten many times, mainly because he is such a quiet, content, happy baby. So today on the eve of his 4 month birthday is his 2 month photo (the picture was taken when he was 2 months old or close to that anyway :)
